I've got racing on the brain.. seriously ?

Alright running peeps, I hope everyone is making for some quality miles this week. I have been pretty much back to normal mileage this week, and that's good. I have been running on the dreadmill though, so I can allow my right calf to heal completely.

Here's my question to you all: When you are in the middle of a training run, do you think about something OTHER than running ? I can't seem to visualize anything other than running a race, completing a race, or winning a race. I absolutely cannot be the only one who thinks like this...

So, what do YOU think about when running ? Let's keep it family-oriented here, guys... I don't want any responses that have the word "Kardashian" in it...

although....

Nevermind.

  2. Hi Chris,

When I'm running roads I think about every topic that comes to mind. When I'm running trails I think about/focus on the trail. Roads are a bit easier to run as you don't have to be concerned with tree roots, rocks, low hanging branches, wildlife, ect ... :)

  3. I think it depends on where you are at that day. If something has happened and I am a bit stressed about it, I will usually think about that and solve the issue in my head as I run.

Other times I just get lost in what I am doing. How I am feeling. The flow of movement.

I guess my thoughts are pretty random. I can't say that I often think about racing unless I have a goal I am working towards which I don't at this moment.
